Trailers can be towed with a Class BE license

Would you like to drive larger trailers safely? With a BE license, you can tow travel trailers, horse trailers, and cargo trailers, giving you significantly more flexibility on the road.

Prerequisites:
Minimum age: 18 years old (17 years old for accompanied driving – BF17)
A Class B driver's license is required
No theory classes—individualized instruction based on skill level

Class B vs. Class BE

Class B only
·Trailers with a maximum gross weight of 750 kg
·Trailers weighing more than 750 kg are permitted if the combined weight of the towing vehicle and trailer does not exceed 3,500 kg
With BE
·Class B license required
·Trailers up to 3,500 kg
·No weight limit for the towing vehicle

B96 Driver's License Extension

With the B96 endorsement, you are permitted to drive passenger cars with trailers where the total weight of the combination is up to 4,250 kg. No additional test is required—instead, you complete a one-day driver training course that includes both theory and practical instruction. Ideal for larger travel trailers, horse trailers, or boat trailers.
